Who is Lord Hanuman?

Lord Hanuman, also known as Bajrangbali and Pawanputra, is the greatest devotee of Lord Rama and an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He symbolizes unwavering devotion (bhakti), immense strength (shakti), selfless service (seva), and celibacy (brahmacharya). Worshipping Hanuman brings courage, removes fear, and provides protection from evil influences and negative energies.

Best Days and Times for Hanuman Puja

Tuesdays and Saturdays are the most auspicious days for Hanuman worship. Hanuman Jayanti (Chaitra Purnima) is the most sacred occasion. Check the panchang for exact tithi timings. Early morning (Brahma Muhurta) and evening are the best times. Many devotees also worship Hanuman during Shani Sade Sati or Shani Dasha periods, as Hanuman is believed to control Shani's malefic effects.

Essential Samagri

  • Hanuman idol or picture
  • Sindoor (vermillion) — Hanuman's signature offering
  • Jasmine oil or mustard oil for the lamp
  • Red flowers, especially red hibiscus
  • Laddoo (boondi laddoo is traditional)
  • Betel leaves and bananas
  • Red or orange cloth
  • Chameli (jasmine) garland

Hanuman Puja Vidhi

1. Purification: Bathe and wear clean clothes (preferably red or orange). Sprinkle Ganga jal in the puja area.

2. Invocation: Light the mustard oil lamp. Apply sindoor to the idol — this is uniquely important in Hanuman worship.

3. Offerings: Offer red flowers, sindoor, jasmine oil, and boondi laddoo. Hanuman is pleased with simple, heartfelt offerings.

4. Hanuman Chalisa: Recite the Hanuman Chalisa — this 40-verse hymn by Tulsidas is the most powerful Hanuman prayer. Regular recitation removes fear and obstacles.

5. Mantra Japa: Chant Om Hanumate Namah 108 times, or the powerful Bajrang Baan for protection.

6. Sunderkand: For deeper worship, read Sunderkand from the Ramayana, which narrates Hanuman's journey to Lanka.

7. Aarti: Conclude with Hanuman aarti: Aarti Keeje Hanuman Lala Ki.

Benefits of Hanuman Worship

Regular Hanuman puja builds mental strength and courage. It is especially beneficial for those facing legal troubles, health challenges, or Shani-related issues in their kundali. Students and athletes find particular strength through Hanuman worship.
