Lakshmi Puja for Wealth and Prosperity
Who is Goddess Lakshmi?
Goddess Lakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu, represents eight forms of wealth known as Ashta Lakshmi — material wealth (Dhana), food grains (Dhanya), courage (Dhairya), progeny (Santana), victory (Vijaya), knowledge (Vidya), elephants/abundance (Gaja), and royal power (Aishwarya). Worshipping her invites all forms of prosperity, not just financial abundance.
Best Time for Lakshmi Puja
While Lakshmi Puja is most grandly performed during Diwali, Fridays are considered ideal for weekly worship. Pradosh kaal (evening twilight) is the most auspicious time. During Diwali, the panchang provides the exact Lakshmi Puja muhurat — typically during Amavasya (new moon) of Kartik month. Sharad Purnima is another powerful day for Lakshmi worship.
