How is a marriage muhurat decided?
A vivah muhurat combines several panchang factors: an auspicious tithi (lunar day), a marriage-friendly nakshatra such as Rohini, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha or Revati, a good weekday, and the absence of malefic periods like Vishti karana and Rahu kalam. The final muhurta - the exact hour - is then fixed from the couple's own kundalis.
Why do wedding date lists differ between panchangs?
Different traditions weigh the rules differently - some exclude Chaturmas entirely, some allow specific exceptions, and regional panchangs (Drik, Vaakya, Ontikoppal) can differ on tithi boundaries. Can we marry on a date not in the auspicious list?

What is the difference between a muhurat day and the muhurta hour?
