1. कार्ड की भाषा
अभी अंग्रेज़ी, हिंदी, तेलुगु और तमिल में। कन्नड़ और मराठी कार्ड तब आएँगे जब उस भाषा के जानकार शब्दों की जाँच कर लेंगे। छपवाने से पहले तिथि की पंक्ति पुरोहित जी को दिखा लें।

बच्चा
यही कार्ड का शीर्षक होगा, और कार्ड के वाक्यों में भी यही शब्द आएगा।
बेटे के नाम से पहले हम चि. लगाते हैं। बेटी का नाम वैसा ही छपता है जैसा आप लिखें: आपके परिवार में कु. लिखा जाता हो तो नाम के साथ लिख दें।
माता-पिता और दादा-दादी
सिर्फ़ नाम लिखें। "श्रीमती" कार्ड खुद जोड़ देगा।
खाली छोड़ेंगे तो ऊपर वाले नाम छपेंगे। चाचा-चाची या बुआ के नाम यहाँ जोड़ें।
तारीख और मुहूर्त
तारीख, मुहूर्त का समय और शहर डालें: तिथि की पंक्ति हम निकाल देंगे।
मंदिर में कोई तय समय न हो तो समय खाली छोड़ दें। कार्ड पर तारीख और स्थान छपेंगे।
यह छपता नहीं है। पंचांग इसी जगह के हिसाब से चलता है, जहाँ आप रहते हैं उसके नहीं: हरिद्वार में मुंडन हो तो हरिद्वार डालें।

What goes on the card
A Hindi mundan card opens with "।। श्री गणेशाय नमः ।।" and the title, "मुंडन संस्कार", or "मुंडन एवं कर्णवेध संस्कार" when the ears are pierced the same day. Then "मान्यवर," and "परमेश्वर की असीम अनुकम्पा एवं पूर्वजों के आशीर्वाद से हमारे सुपुत्र चि. ...", with the grandparents in a bracket ("सुपौत्र - ..."), and the date the North Indian way: "... का मुंडन संस्कार शुभ मिती ... संवत् ..., ... दिनांक ... को प्रातः ... बजे सुसम्पन्न होगा।"
The card asks guests to come with their families and bless the child ("अतः आपसे सानुरोध निवेदन है कि इस मांगलिक अवसर पर सपरिवार पधारकर ... को शुभाशीर्वाद प्रदान कर हमें अनुगृहीत करें।"), lists the havan, the mundan and the प्रीतिभोज under "मांगलिक कार्यक्रम", and closes with "विनीत" over the parents' names and "दर्शनाभिलाषी" over the children's. For a daughter it says "हमारी सुपुत्री" and prints her name as you type it, alone or with "कु.". These are the lines Hindi family cards share, set for the mundan; ask an elder to read the card before you print.

Questions people ask
What to write on a mundan card?
Who invites (the parents, or the grandparents with the parents named beside the child), the child's name (Chi. before a boy's name), the ceremony, the date with the muhurat time and the tithi line, the havan and mundan times, the venue and the meal. The maker writes it in the style of printed Indian-English cards, and in Hindi (मुंडन संस्कार, with the शुभ मिती line), Telugu (పుట్టు వెంట్రుకల వేడుక) and Tamil (காதணி விழா, often with the tonsure) the way cards in those languages are written. The names, the date line, the programme and the lines at the top and bottom are yours to change.
Mundan and ear piercing on the same day, on one card?
Yes. Choose "Mundan and ear piercing" under "What do you call it?" and the title and the sentences name both. If they happen at different times, add each as a row in the programme.
Our mundan is at a temple (Tirupati, Haridwar) with no fixed time. What then?
Leave the muhurat time empty and type the temple's town. The card shows the date and the place without a time. If the temple gives you a time, add it and we write the tithi line for that town and time.
When is mundan done?
Most commonly in the child's first or third year, and many prefer an odd year. Your purohit fixes the muhurat from the child's chart; our mundan guide explains the customs.
Is my child's photo or our address uploaded anywhere?
No. The card is drawn on your own phone or computer, and the photo, the names and the address stay there. Only the date, time and town go to our server, to work out the date line.
What does it cost, and can I change it later?
Nothing: making the card and downloading the WhatsApp image and the print PDF are always free, with no sign-up. The card carries a small "Made on purohit.app" line at the end of the card; removing it is a small fee of ₹10, paid once for this card by UPI, card or netbanking, which helps us keep Purohit.app running.
