Griha Pravesh Muhurat 2027: Verified Dates, Month by Month
There are 45 Griha Pravesh muhurat dates in 2027, spread across January to June and November to December, with no dates at all from July through October. All timings below are verified from the Drik Panchang and calculated for New Delhi; windows shift by a few minutes in other cities, so confirm the exact timing for your location with your purohit before you fix the day. If you are new to the ceremony itself - the vidhi, the samagri, how the havan works in a flat - start with our Griha Pravesh ceremony guide. Dates for the remainder of this year are in the 2026 muhurat post.
How to read these tables
Each row gives the date, the day of the week, the muhurat window for Delhi, and the nakshatra that makes the day suitable. Many windows run overnight into the next morning - a window ending "6:53 AM, 23 Feb" means the muhurat that starts on 22 February stays open until sunrise the next day. The ritual entry (carrying the kalash across the threshold) is what needs to happen inside the window; the rest of the puja can continue past it. Your purohit will pick the precise moment, often a lagna within the window that also suits your kundali.

Why there are no dates from July to October
The four-month stretch from July through October 2027 has no Griha Pravesh muhurats at all. This is the Chaturmas period - the monsoon months when Lord Vishnu is believed to rest and new beginnings such as house entry, weddings and thread ceremonies are set aside. The practical tradition behind it is older than the astrology: monsoon was never the season to move into a new house. If your possession falls in these months, take the keys, complete the paperwork, even shift essentials if you must - and hold the ritual entry for the November window. Purohits advise this routinely, and the gap between handover and Griha Pravesh carries no stigma. The ceremony guide explains why the ritual entry and the moving truck are separate events.
Griha Pravesh Muhurat: November 2027
The season reopens with eight dates - the busiest booking period of the year, since the post-monsoon backlog and the festive season land together.

Picking your date and booking the purohit
Shortlist two or three dates that suit your possession timeline, then have a purohit confirm the best one - the published list is general, and a purohit will check the day against your kundali and your city's exact timings before fixing the lagna. Book early for the March and November clusters; those dates fill up first. Once the date is set, the ceremony guide walks you through everything else: the type of pravesh that applies to you, the samagri list, and how the havan works in an apartment. You can request a verified purohit on Purohit once you have a shortlist, and the purohit will help finalise the moment of entry.
How we verify: dates and muhurat timings in our guides are cross-checked against the panchang before publishing, and practical details - samagri, durations, dakshina ranges - reflect real bookings on Purohit.app. Traditions vary by community; your purohit's guidance prevails.
