If your muhurat is before sunrise
Griha pravesh muhurats are often in the early hours. A panchang counts the day from sunrise, so muhurat lists file a 4:56 am muhurat under the day before: our New Delhi list shows one under Saturday 21 November 2026 that runs from 4:56 to 5:54 am on Sunday 22 November. A card that copies the listed date sends every guest a day early. The maker asks which morning you mean and prints that date.
What to write on a griha pravesh card
A Hindi card is headed "गृहप्रवेश निमंत्रण" and opens with "।। श्री गणेशाय नमः ।।", sometimes with the doha "विघ्न हरण मंगल करण ...". It says the family is entering its new home with the grace of the Supreme and the blessings of the elders, invites guests "सपरिवार", lists the programme, and ends with "विनीत" or "निमंत्रक". A Kannada card is a "ನೂತನ ಗೃಹಪ್ರವೇಶೋತ್ಸವ ಆಹ್ವಾನ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ", gives the date the panchang way - "ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿ ಶ್ರೀ ... ಸಲ್ಲುವ ... ಲಗ್ನದ ಶುಭ ಮುಹೂರ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ" - and closes with "ತಮ್ಮ ಆಗಮನಾಭಿಲಾಷಿಗಳು".

What should I write on a griha pravesh invitation?
In the order printed cards use: a line to Ganesha or your family deity at the top, the title, a sentence saying you are entering your new home and inviting the guest with family, the date with the muhurat time and tithi, the pujas of the day and the meal, the new address, and your names at the end. The maker fills it in for you, and this page shows the full wording in Hindi and Kannada.
Our muhurat is at 4:30 in the morning. Which date goes on the card?
The calendar date of that morning. A panchang counts a day from sunrise to sunrise, so a muhurat before sunrise is listed under the day before. Our New Delhi griha pravesh list shows a window under Saturday 21 November 2026 that runs from 4:56 to 5:54 am on 22 November. Your guests need the morning they must come, Sunday 22 November, so that is what the card prints. The maker asks you whenever your time is before sunrise.
Is the tithi line correct for my city?
We work it out from your date, muhurat time and city: the tithi on every card, the lagna on a Kannada card, and the nakshatra and lagna too on an English card for a city in the south or west. They are taken at the muhurat time, not at sunrise, because the tithi can change in between. We test these calculations against published panchangs. Your purohit's word is final: the line stays editable, so change it if his note says otherwise.
Can guests find the house from the card?
Paste your home's Google Maps link. We print a small QR code beside the address that guests can scan with their phone camera. When you send the card on WhatsApp, the link goes with it so they can tap it.
How much does it cost?
Nothing: making the card and downloading the WhatsApp image and the print PDF are always free, with no sign-up. The card carries a small purohit.app line at the foot; removing it is a small fee of ₹10, paid once for this card by UPI, card or netbanking, which helps us keep Purohit.app running.
Can I change the card later, or make it in another language too?
Yes. Change any detail, the design or the language and download it again. You can make one in Kannada for the elders and one in English for colleagues.
Is my address uploaded anywhere?
No. The card is drawn on your own phone or computer. Your names, address and map link are not sent to us. Only the date, time and city go to our server, to work out the date line.
