The wording printed Telugu subhalekhas use - "స్వస్తిశ్రీ చాంద్రమాన ... సుముహూర్తమున వివాహము జరిపించుటకు దైవజ్ఞులచే నిశ్చయింపబడినది" - with the year, tithi, nakshatra and lagna worked out for your date and city.
The card is free forever, with a small "Made on purohit.app" line at the end of the card. To remove the line, pay a small fee of ₹29: it helps us keep Purohit.app running.
What goes on the card
A Telugu subhalekha opens with "శ్రీరస్తు శుభమస్తు అవిఘ్నమస్తు" or a family deity line such as "శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వర స్వామి ప్రసన్న", and many cards put the house name in the title: "... వారి వివాహ మహోత్సవ ఆహ్వాన పత్రిక". The groom is written "చి॥" and the bride "చి॥ల॥సౌ॥", each with their parents - "(శ్రీమతి ... మరియు శ్రీ ... గార్ల కుమారుడు)". Each side usually prints its own card, naming its own child first; the maker changes the order when you choose whose card it is.
The date is one long sentence: the chandramana year name, the month, the paksha (శుద్ధ or బహుళ) and the tithi, then "అనగా తేదీ" with the date, the day and the time, the nakshatra and the lagna, ending "సుముహూర్తమున వివాహము జరిపించుటకు దైవజ్ఞులచే నిశ్చయింపబడినది" - the muhurtham the astrologers have fixed. The card asks guests to come and bless the new couple, names the venue (కళ్యాణ వేదిక) and the feast (విందు), and closes with "ఆహ్వానించువారు" over the names of those inviting.

Questions people ask
How much does it cost?
Nothing: making the card and downloading the WhatsApp image and the print PDF are always free, with no sign-up. The card carries a small "Made on purohit.app" line at the end of the card; removing it is a small fee of ₹29, paid once for this card by UPI, card or netbanking, which helps us keep Purohit.app running. If you find a typo later, fix it and download again.
How do you fill the tithi, nakshatra and lagna line?
From the date, the muhurat time and the city, at that moment, the way a panchang would, and in the form each language's cards use. Kannada cards get the samvatsara and Shaka year, the South Indian month, the paksha, the tithi and the lagna; Telugu cards the year name, the month, the paksha, the tithi, the nakshatra and the lagna in one "స్వస్తిశ్రీ" sentence; Tamil cards the Tamil year, the Tamil month and its day, the tithi, the nakshatra and the lagna; Marathi cards the South Indian month, the tithi and the Shaka year; Hindi cards the North Indian month, the tithi and the samvat; an English card for a city in the south or west (Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa) also gets the nakshatra and the lagna. The tithi and nakshatra are taken at the muhurat time. You can change every word of the line; check it with your purohit before you print.
Our muhurat is after midnight. Which date goes on the card?
The wedding day you choose, with the time marked as that night; a Telugu card adds "(తెల్లవారితే ...)" with the next day, and a Tamil card prints the next morning's date, as cards in each language do. The maker asks which night you mean, and works out the tithi for the real moment - a 1:15 am muhurat can fall in the next tithi.
Can the groom's side and the bride's side each make their own card?
Yes. Each side names its own child first, as real cards do. Choose who is inviting, and the order and the words change to match.
Can I print it at a local shop?
Yes. The PDF is a 5 x 7 inch card at print quality with 3 mm extra on every side for the printer to trim.
Do you keep the details I type?
No. The card is made on your own phone or computer: the names, the venue and the rest of the wording are not sent to us. Only the date, the muhurat time and the city go to our server, to work out the date line.
Which languages can I make it in?
English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil, each in the wording real cards in that language use. Bengali and Gujarati are being added.
Can I change the card later?
Yes, on the same phone, as often as you like, and in any language or design.
Does the card have a picture of Ganesha?
No - the invocation is written in words, and the designs use auspicious motifs such as the kalash and the toran, and traditional Indian ornament. Many people prefer this, because printed cards with deity pictures end up being thrown away after the wedding.
