Satyanarayan Puja Invitation Message: Hindi, Marathi, English
A Satyanarayan puja invitation needs only a few things: the puja, the day, the time of the puja and the katha, when prasad or the meal is served, and where. What changes is who is speaking and where the words go: a WhatsApp message to relatives, a printed card from the family, a notice from a housing society, a mandal or an office. Below are 28 wordings in English, Hindi and Marathi, grouped that way, most of them written for Kartika Purnima on Tuesday 24 November 2026. After them come the opening lines for each occasion, how to write the Purnima and tithi line (it changes if the katha runs late), and the prasad and meal lines. How the invitation is laid out
- The invocation: || Shree Ganeshaya Namah || on an English card, ।। श्री गणेशाय नमः ।। on a Hindi or Marathi one, with the family deity beside it if you like.
- The title: Shri Satyanarayan Puja or Shri Satyanarayan Katha; श्री सत्यनारायण पूजा or श्री सत्यनारायण कथा in Hindi; श्री सत्यनारायणाची महापूजा in Marathi. The occasion goes under it: Kartika Purnima, a griha pravesh, a new job.
- One sentence saying who has arranged the puja and where, and asking you to come with your family.
- The date and the time of the puja, with the tithi line if you want it.
- The programme: katha, aarti or havan, each with its time.
- The prasad or meal line.
- The address, and on WhatsApp a map link sent as its own message so guests can tap it.
- The names of the hosts: under निमंत्रक or विनीत on a Hindi card, ~ आपले नम्र ~ on a Marathi one, and "With best compliments from" on an English card.
Telugu households call the same puja a vratam (సత్యనారాయణ వ్రతం), Kannada cards a ಶ್ರೀ ಸತ್ಯನಾರಾಯಣ ಮಹಾಪೂಜೆ and Gujarati ones a katha (સત્યનારાયણ કથા). The wordings below are in English, Hindi and Marathi.

WhatsApp messages in Hindi
Messages are written the way people speak, with सुबह and शाम; printed cards use प्रातः and सायं. कथा रखी है (we have arranged a katha) is the everyday way to say it.

Opening lines for the occasion
The puja is often a thank-you for something that has just happened. Put the reason in the first line:

In English, the same reasons read "to bless our new home", "to give thanks for the birth of our son", "after Rahul and Ananya's wedding", "to give thanks for a new job" and "on the opening of our shop".
Writing the date: Purnima, tithi and samvat
Most invitations simply name the day: "Kartika Purnima", कार्तिक पूर्णिमा, कार्तिक पौर्णिमा. A card that carries the full traditional line writes it the way each language's wedding cards do:
- Hindi: शुभ मिती कार्तिक शुक्ल पूर्णिमा, संवत् 2083. The samvat is the Vikram Samvat, 2083 until Chaitra Shukla Pratipada on 7 April 2027.
- Marathi: मिती कार्तिक शुक्लपक्ष 15 शके 1948 मंगळवार. Marathi calendars also write the bright fortnight as शुद्ध and the dark one as वद्य, so the same day appears as कार्तिक शुद्ध 15. The year is the Shaka year, 1948 until Gudi Padwa on Wednesday 7 April 2027.
- English: "Kartika Shukla Purnima · Vikram Samvat 2083" in the North Indian style, or "Parabhava samvatsara · Kartika Shukla Purnima · Krittika nakshatra" in the South Indian style.
Our maker reads the tithi at the time of the puja, not at sunrise, and that matters for an evening katha. On Tuesday 24 November 2026 the Purnima tithi ends at 8:23 pm; the moment is the same everywhere in India. A katha that starts after that is no longer in Purnima: the Hindi line becomes शुभ मिती मार्गशीर्ष कृष्ण प्रतिपदा, a month ahead, because North Indian calendars end the month on Purnima, while the Marathi line stays in Kartika as मिती कार्तिक कृष्णपक्ष 1. Many people print the Purnima's name whatever the hour, because the puja is kept for that Purnima; if your katha will run past the tithi, ask your purohit which line he wants. It can happen at the other end of the day too. On Wednesday 23 December 2026, Margashirsha Purnima begins only at 10:47 am, so a 9 am puja that day falls in Chaturdashi (शुभ मिती मार्गशीर्ष शुक्ल चतुर्दशी) and the evening katha of card 20 in Purnima. Which day to keep the puja on is a separate question: it is the day your panchang lists for the Satyanarayan vrat, which is sometimes the day before the Purnima most calendars show. The prasad and meal line
- Prasad only: "Prasad follows the puja"; आरती के पश्चात प्रसाद वितरण; तीर्थप्रसाद.
- Prasad and a meal: "Prasad and lunch follow the puja", or "Prasad and dinner from 8:30 pm"; तीर्थ प्रसाद एवं स्नेह भोज दोपहर 1 बजे से आपके आगमन तक; तीर्थप्रसाद व भोजन, or महाप्रसाद : दुपारी 1 वाजता.
- The prasad itself is the sheera (शिरा) with panchamrit in Marathi homes, and often पंजीरी with पंचामृत in North Indian ones. Hosting a Satyanarayan puja at home covers how much to make and how many guests to plan for.
Making the card
The Satyanarayan puja invitation maker makes the card in English, Hindi and Marathi, and in other Indian languages. Its Hindi wording is card 19 above and its Marathi wording card 21; it offers a couple, a family or one person as the host in every language, and a company or a mandal in English (card 24 is its company wording). Type your city and it shows the Purnima day with the hours the tithi runs, then writes the tithi line for the time you enter; add the prasad or meal line and the address, and send the card on WhatsApp or print it. Show the date line to your purohit before you print.
